WESTERN CANADIAN SENIOR HOCKEY RULES
(VERY IMPORTANT, PLEASE READ)

rules

1. All players must be of legal age during the calendar year. At the request of the Tournament Committee, the participants must show proof of age.

2. Prior to the start of the tournament participating teams must forward the team's roster to the Tournament Committee. Any changes to the roster after the schedule is drawn must be cleared with the Tournament Committee.

3. Teams must register with the Tournament Committee prior to playing their first tournament game.

4. Canadian Adult Recreational Hockey rules will apply, i.e. any player assessed THREE PENALTIES in one game shall be ruled off the ice for the remainder of that game (Game Misconduct). A substitute must be placed in the penalty bench immediately to serve the third penalty.

5. A player will only be allowed to play for one team in the tournament.

No player will be permitted to score more than THREE goals per game, face off will be in the offenders end should this occur. Referees and timekeepers to control.

6. A team who is found to have used an ineligible player in a tournament game shall have that game defaulted.

7. The red line will be used for ICING ONLY. It is the responsibility of the teams and the players to understand the Playing Rules as they apply to suspensions. A team may forfeit their next games if they play a player who has received a penalty resulting in a suspension.

8. Teams having one goalkeeper must accept a goalkeeper assigned or approved by the Tournament Committee in the event of an injury or sickness to the original goalkeeper.

9. In this tournament, the goaltender on participating teams may be five (5) years younger than the designated age. Exception, age group +70, +75 years may have goalie 10 years younger.

10. Teams are requested to be ready to start their tournament games at the designated times.

11. All equipment worn by players must be CSA Approved and goaltenders must adhere to the CARHA Goaltender Facemask Rule.

12. The referees are instructed to apply the rules firmly in regards to acts of violence.

13. All games will consist of a 5 minute warm up with 2 - 20 minute stop time periods. If time is available, a dry scrape or flood of the ice will occur between the 1st and 2nd period.

14. Upon completion of the round robin, the outcome will be decided by the team with most wins, winner of round robin game between tied teams, goals for minus goals against, goals for divided by goals against, least penalized team and decision by tournament committee. The above rules will apply in sequence with no reverting back to determine placement of teams.
